ELHO Scorpio 550 Rock Picker

Scorpio is designed and manufactured on the west coast of Finland where the inland ice left large amounts of rocks and stones of all sizes some thousands of years ago.
Stones in the field cause huge costs every year when harvesting machines brakes down because of them. And you can’t only calculate the harvesting machine repair cost, there is also a lot of lost working hours. Harvesting can easily be delayed up to a week or more, depending on what has broken down on the machine. Loss of working hours is a reduction of income!
To help the situation, ELHO Scorpio 550 the totally hydraulic driven stone collector was born. Picking stones efficiently, well working sift, a large working width and durability of the machine has been the main goals when creating the Scorpio. The machine is equipped, to mention some, with hydraulic drive and this patented hydraulic system directs the power to where the demand is greatest. The pick-up rotor or tines does not break down even if it gets totally blocked. The reverse function can easily clear up blockage and there is no need to go out of the tractor. The large and durable lifting tines are flexible in all directions.
Every steel bar in the sieve is replaceable and every other sieve steel bar can be removed to create a larger gap between the bars, the distance between the sieve bars is 40-110 mm. The sieve bars are resilient and every other of the bars is mounted at different height to prevent wedging.
The wide side rake tines are made of Hardox steel and are firmly welded on to the rotor tube. The rotor bearings are built into the steel tube which gives high durability and good protection. The side rakes can also be reversed to remove blockage. The rake rotor is mounted far from its frame to prevent wedging between the rake rotor and the frame structure.
Scorpio has a large hopper, with a tipping height of 2,7 meters, this way it can easily reach over the sides of a big trailer. The back wall of the hopper also sifts out soil when tipping the load. The side plates and the hopper lid plate are made of Hardox steel.
Scorpio has a sturdy steel frame, telescopic drawbar with overload protection, wide rakes, large tandem wheels and all functions on the machine is hydraulically driven. No belts or chains to change!
The ELHO Scorpio has an automatic depth adjustment. The machine follows the ground actively. Working depth adjustment has two depth settings that can be manually overridden by the driver’s commands. With the automatic depth adjustment the driver doesn’t need to keep track of how deep the machine goes, this helps a lot on very uneven field or in poor visibility.
The ELHO Scorpio work area is not only the removal of stones from the farm fields but also, for example roads, other type of fields, renovations and construction of green areas. Scorpio 550 is very suitable for contracting. Main features:
