Following the hugely successful C&D-Type Jaguar racers, Jaguar turned their attention to producing a volume production, road going sports car. The final product was one of the most clear-cut examples of pure racing design transferred to a road car, the Jaguar E-Type.

In 1964 the Original 3.8L inline six was enlarged to 4.2L, providing the same level of power and top speed, with the added bonus of 18% more torque, while also coinciding with the introduction of Jaguar’s new ‘All-Synchro’ gearbox, an uprated brake booster and more luxurious seats, altogether allowing for a far superior driving experience.

This lovely, numbers matching, Australian (Bryson) delivered ‘Fixed Head Coupe’ rolled off the production line on the 28th of September 1965, finished in Cream, with Red Interior Trim.

Presenting very honestly as a very well maintained example, rather than restored, the FHC has recently had major attention to the bonnet, with a fresh coat of paint and new chrome-work, while mechanically the clutch slave cylinder was replaced, rear cradle was dropped, the tail shaft rebuilt and all new mounting bushes were fitted in late 2024.

In it’s original colours, with matching numbers this highly desirable Australian delivered, right hand drive, Series I Jaguar E-Type is in superb driving condition, with ample performance, supple comfort and fantastic styling.
