Hey there, my name is Duke! And yeah, I am basically shelter royalty! I am looking for a loving and understanding family to take me home and treat me like the king I am.

I am generally a social butterfly but I have been understandably nervous here at the shelter. I may need some time to warm up to you, but once we are used to each other I'll never leave your side. I will require a home with no young children as I am not comfortable with them over handling me. If you have older children at home please bring them to meet me.

Being an older boy, I do have a few extras that come along with aging so I am hoping my new family can look past that and make sure I live my best life. My shelter parents can explain to you all of the perks that come with age. I will need to be allowed inside to live my golden years in luxury and comfort, just how all doggos should be!

I have met some dogs before and don't mind them, however I'm not really interested in playing and running a muck! If you have an older, polite dog at home please bring them in to meet me.

I can't really contain my excitement around cats or other small animals, so my new home must not have these!
