FEATURES

CAT6A cables feature improved specifications that allow it to perform up to 10x better than standard CAT6 cabling. Designed to operate at 500MHz (as opposed to CAT6 which operates at 250MHz), losses are decreased such that 10Gbps speeds are possible.

To maintain transmission characteristics and network integrity, it's essential to use the correct type of patch-cord to match the installation. A network port will perform only at the level of the LOWEST-rated component in the chain.

Category 6A Cable Standard:
Category 6A is defined at frequencies up to 500 MHz—twice that of CAT6—over 100Ω twisted pair.
It has improved alien crosstalk characteristics, allowing 10GBASE-T to be run for the same distance as previous protocols.
How to distinguish a CAT6A lead from a CAT5e or CAT6 lead:
To distinguish a CAT6A plug from a CAT5e/CAT6 plug, or Pro2 leads have been terminated with a red tinted plug. Early CAT6A lead were also much thicker than CAT6, however with manufacturers making many improvements in construction techniques, they are getting narrow and you may not be able to tell the difference from size alone.
