When the Australian Government stopped the boats coming from Indonesia, filmmaker Jolyon Hoff drove to the refugee boats' staging post in Indonesia to 'meet the refugees'. Unsure of what he would find, Hoff discovered photographers, filmmakers, musicians, artists, teachers and families. The Staging Post (2017) produced and directed by Hoff is about the people he met and the community they built together. The Staging Post provides a better understanding of the experiences and challenges faced by people who are forced to leave their homes in search of asylum and refuge.
