The story of an independent country cinema in Swanpool, a village about twenty minutes' drive from Benalla. 'Kevin Smith and Shirley Swallow have been running the Swanpool Cinema for the past nine years ... Despite all the hard work and the difficulties in making ends meet, Kevin and Shirley really enjoy the community involvement. They have a number of willing volunteers to issue tickets and serve in the candy bar. A friend supplies beautiful fresh flowers for the foyer and annexe and another wood for the open fire. They love meeting patrons and particularly like Filmlovers Friday, when they show a special feature followed by supper. This might be an Italian or Indian film followed by food from that country.'
