The Spiderwebhouse (2015) is a German feature film directed by Mara Eibl-Eibesfeldt from a screenplay by Johanna Stuttman.
Twelve-year-old Jonas (Ben Litwinschuh) takes responsibility for his two younger siblings, Nick (Lutz Simon Eilert) and Miechen (Helena Pieske), when their mother Sabine (Sylvie Testud) leaves her children to fend for themselves. The children make a pact to conceal their mother's absence. As Sabine's weekend stay at Sun Valley Psychiatric Hospital turns into weeks, what begins as an adventure for the children becomes anything but as they struggle to cope with the reality of daily existence.
