Some twenty-odd years later, the humour and wisdom of Tiger's insights are brought to life through the work of Fiona Gibson and Angela Harrison for the Institute's Centre for Aboriginal Languages and Linguistics (CALL). Harrison writes, ‘This book does not attempt to be a life story, or even a memoir, but a window into some of the significant events in one Warlpiri man's life in the twentieth century.’ One of these key events is the making of the road from near Yuendumu to the outstation of Nyirrpi by Tiger and fellow Warlpiri men and women. The book is complemented by archival and community photographs, artwork images, timelines, maps and illustrations including by students from Nyirrpi Middle Years class.
