Lost Thing, Found Sounds: Sound Designer John Kassab Talks about Moving from Theory to Practice
$7.50
DESCRIPTION
Perhaps rather unusually for a sound designer, John Kassab began his career studying film theory and history, graduating from an arts degree with a cinema studies major at the University of Melbourne in 2003. He has travelled the world researching the contemporary state of his craft and, most recently, worked on Shaun Tan and Andrew Ruhemann's 2010 Oscar-winning short film The Lost Thing. Here, John talks to Kate Harper about his overlapping interests in film history and sound design, and his thoughts on where the industry might be heading.
