AUDIO TECHNICA VM530EN/H DUAL MAGNET CARTRIDGE

 

The VM530EN/H combo kit includes the VM530EN elliptical nude dual moving magnet cartridge premounted on the AT-HS10BK universal 1/2-mount headshell.

The VM530EN is a top-end elliptical stylus cartridge in Audio-Technicas new VM cartridge line a line that harks back to A-Ts early days as a manufacturer primarily of high-end phono cartridges, while also incorporating todays advanced technology. Like all VM cartridges, the VM530EN is equipped with dual magnets that are positioned to match the left and right channels in the stereo record groove for outstanding channel separation and extended frequency response. The cartridges lightweight 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical nude stylus reduces the execution mass of the vibration system, enabling fuller frequency reproduction and less tracking distortion than a bonded stylus. Audio Technica's VM 530 EN MM cartridge is partly derived from the innovations and technology developed on the manufacturer's high-end models, like Audio Technica's VM 740 ML cartridge.The VM design of this AudioTechnica phono cartridge makes for better channel separation and frequency response. Para-toroidal coils with high purity PCOCC copper conductors improve the efficiency of the generator and offer great linearity. A shielding plate has been added between the two coils, hence reducing crosstalk between the channels.

Audio Technica's VM 530 EN cartridge features a high-end elliptical stylus.It is light, thus delivering a more vibrant playback and better harmonic reproduction. It is mounted embedded (not bonded) into a pure aluminium cantilever. The cartridge structure is made of a low resonance polymer. This minimises vibration for more precise and clearer playback. The connectors of this AudioTechnica VM530 are gold-plated.

In the record production process a cutter head carves out the record grooves. The modulations in the groove are analogue mechanical equivalents of the original audio signals. To read these modulations, Audio-Technica developed the patented Dual Magnet design which duplicates the structure of the cutter head. Instead of using a single, large magnet, the two magnets are arranged in the shape of a V. The two magnets are positioned precisely to match positions of the left and right channels in the stereo groove walls. Consequently, the VM design provides outstanding channel separation, extended frequency response and superb tracking. All models feature high-purity 6N-OFC (99.9999% pure oxygen free copper) wiring for maximum sonic purity and extraordinary resolution of fine musical detail.
