The Heresy IV is quite possibly the speaker champion of the world.
Whether it's for your burgeoning vinyl collection, home theatre or whatever, the Heresy IV will knock your socks off.
First introduced in 1957, the Heresy, a three-way design, started out as a compact centre channel speaker to accompany the Klipschorn in three-speaker stereo arrays. The Heresy IV offers unparalleled sound quality from a relatively small speaker.
Features:
All-new K-702 midrange compression driver, featuring a polyimide diaphragm, for exceptional detail
K-702 midrange is mated to the K-704 Tractrix® horn for a wide coverage pattern
K-107-TI titanium diaphragm high-frequency driver with an all-new wide dispersion phase plug for providing exceptionally even high-frequency dispersion
All-new high fidelity network for truer to life sound, best-in-class efficiency, and power handling
For the first time, the Heresy IV features a rear port for the most efficient, fastest air transfer in their class, which reduces port noise for punchier low frequencies
Klipsch Tractrix ports have custom designed inner flares that help reduce air turbulence entering the port. Less turbulent air helps reduce port noise for cleaner, more powerful bass
Available in a high-quality Satin Black Ash, Natural Cherry, Distressed Oak, or American Walnut wood veneer finish

WHAT'S NEW?
A REAR PORT
For the first time in its long legacy, the Heresy now features a rear port â improving low-frequency extension by almost 10Hz, for room-filling bass.
Utilising Tractrix geometry, the all-new Heresy IV ports allow for the most efficient, fastest air transfer in their class, which reduces port noise for punchier low frequencies. Klipsch Tractrix ports have custom designed inner flares that help reduce air turbulence entering the port. Less turbulent air helps reduce port noise for cleaner, more powerful bass.
In addition to delivering smooth, dynamic and low distortion sound, the Heresy IV is available in a high-quality Natural Cherry, Distressed Oak, American Walnut, or Satin Black Ash wood veneer finish. A slant riser base is included for floor placement that can be removed for cabinet installations.
COMPACT, THREE-WAY LOUDSPEAKER
The Heresy was originally introduced in 1957 with a compact three-way design utilising a 12â woofer and horn-loaded midrange and tweeter. In 2006, the Heresy III was upgraded with a more powerful woofer and a bi-wire network as well as midrange and tweeter compression drivers.
DRIVERS
The Heresy IV incorporates an all new K-702 midrange compression driver, featuring a polyimide diaphragm for exceptional detail and dynamics. The K-702 midrange is mated to the K-704 Tractrix® horn, providing you with a wide coverage pattern and smooth response throughout the listening area. The K-107-TI titanium diaphragm high frequency driver features an all new wide dispersion phase plug, providing exceptionally even high frequency dispersion throughout the listening area, making for a wider, more accurate sweet spot.
NETWORK
The Heresy IV has been completely revoiced from its predecessor, utilising premium componentry in an all new high-fidelity network â minimising electrical degradation throughout the circuitry â for truer to life sound with best in class efficiency and power handling. The new network draws from the classic three-way steep slope design of the legendary Klipschorn, La Scala and Cornwall speakers.
TRACTRIX® PORTS
For the first time in its long legacy, the Heresy now features a rear port â improving low frequency extension by almost 10Hz, for room filling bass. Utilising Tractrix geometry, the all new Heresy IV ports allow for the most efficient, fastest air transfer in their class, which reduces port noise for punchier low frequencies. Klipsch Tractrix ports have custom designed inner flares that help reduce air turbulence entering the port. Less turbulent air helps reduce port noise for cleaner, more powerful bass.
BI-AMP INPUT PANEL AND BINDING POSTS
The Heresyâs premium, aluminium input panel accommodates large, high-quality speaker cables. Strong, versatile and quality binding posts provide the capability for bi-wiring or bi-amping. The quality continues with Audio quest Type 4 with Star-Quad Geometry internal wiring featuring carbon-loaded insulation, nitrogen-injected PE and solid long-grain copper conductors ensuring the purest signal transfer from input cup to crossover network to drivers.
PERFORMANCE
The Klipsch Heresy IV is the fourth generation of the iconic three-way speaker created over 60 years ago.The new Heresy IVâs bring some very nice improvements over the Heresy III in just about EVERY WAY. This could be seen as sort of a âRebirthâ for this legendary speaker.Â
The all-new K-702 midrange compression driver, which features a polyimide diaphragm, for exceptional detail does bring what seems like a more lifelike voice presentation.The K-702 midrange is mated to the K-704 Tractrix® horn for a wide coverage pattern which results in a very wide soundstage for thew Heresy IV. There are more high frequency details over the previous Heresy III with the K-107-TI titanium diaphragm high-frequency driver with an all-new wide dispersion phase plug for providing exceptionally even high-frequency dispersion. For the first time, the Heresy IV features a rear port for the most efficient, fastest air transfer in their class, which reduces port noise for punchier low frequencies with bass being fast and super tight. The crossover filter used for the Klipsch Heresy IV compact speaker has been entirely revamped. This results in a more precise and realistic sound, increased sensitivity, and optimised power handling.Â
These IVâs are even more real, more intense, closer, more tangible and defined with actual texture to voices in some recordings. The Heresy IVâs deliver more perceived detail in the treble department so they let you hear what was missing. The Heresy IVâs are like a bolt of lightning struck in your room and energised the speaker to pump out electrifying life and dynamics. This does not mean bright or harsh, it just means these speakers are more lively which is a good thing as it helps the music sound real, lifelike and ALIVE. Dynamics are amazing and these have Dynamics for days.
The Heresy IV is like an all new speaker, improved in every way over the III. The bass sounds a little more plentiful than the Heresy III and goes about 10hz deeper, in the 40âs rather than the 50âs. So yes, the bass performance on the new IV is astonishing when compared to the previous Heresy generations. Itâs quick as lightning too and can strike at any time with a huge thunder clap or even at lower volume with a deep drive that I can feel a bit in my listening chair when turned up to rock out. The soundstage width is massive and paints a vivid, clear 3 Dimensional soundscape like an artist using his favourite brush.
The IVâs even make your vinyl records sound phenomenal. They impart a richness and offer up that beautiful big analog sound when playing good vinyl records. You will hear a plethora of details that you hadnât before noticed with your albums. These are indeed horn based speakers which is what makes them so easy to drive. Itâs what makes them sound so alive and very LIVE. It is what adds the presence, bite and also humanity to the sound. They sound real.
