4816 is a specially formulated low hydrogen electrode suitable for welding with both AC and DC power sources. The special coating formulation allows the electrode to run on low voltage machines such as 240 volt AC machines, it is also very stable when used in conjunction with long welding leads, as in ship yards and construction sites. Proweld 4816 is a smooth running low hydrogen electrode with excellent striking and restriking characteristics. It has a fluid slag which is easily removable. Proweld 4816 can be used for welding low alloy high strength steels in both critical and non critical applications. The electrode is ideal for use in rural applications and workshops when welding heavy wall joints and construction. It is also an ideal choice for use as a buffer layer prior to hard surfacing.
