Daiwa Seabass Fishing Rods
The Daiwa Seabass series fishing rods have been designed to be effective fish catching tools from the rocks, piers, estuaries or the beach. The Seabass series is the perfect fishing rod for the keen angler looking for a light weight rod with enough fish stopping power at a great price.
Power and Speed – A Japanese-crafted HSD graphite blank ensures that power and speed are ready to work in unison for beach and rock fishing anglers. Use of graphite also helps to preserve longevity when used in saltwater surroundings.
Forget Tangle – Any fishing rod with impressive materials can be rendered useless if it succumbs to fishing line tangle. Daiwa Australia has combated this threat in the Seabass range by adding Fuji Fazlite guides which are less likely to induce tangling on a cast.
Varied Actions – These vary from medium-light to medium-heavy across the four fishing rods that compromise the range. Line rating then begins with the 3-6kg 86ML Daiwa rods before rising to a whopping 10-25kg for the 110XH.
Catch More – The Daiwa Seabass range you will find it excels at catching tailor or salmon from beaches on the longer models and whiting, flathead, bream and more in estuaries for the 8ft 6 inch model. Daiwa Seabass Buyer Guide
For Sale, our range of Daiwa Seabass fishing Rods are Ideal for beach and rock fishing. We have light surf through to heavy spin models. So which one do you choose? We answer these questions below in our buyer’s guide for Daiwa Seabass Rods.
Model 86ML - Is the smallest size model within the Seabass range, It might not be ideal for surf beaches but a beach that offers a little more shelter and doesn’t have huge swells makes this model ideal. Perfect for targeting sand whiting, bream, dart, luderick, flathead and other light class of fish. At 8ft 6 inch you are not restricted to beach fishing, use it in the estuaries, lakes or off the rocks if care is taken.
Model 96ML – Presents similar options to the 86ML model. However, the length gives you that little extra casting purchase as well as being rated slightly heavier it opens options up to targeting perhaps bonito, salmon and tailor. The action combined with fast taper makes the ideal light-med spinning rod for flicking metal slices into the surf gutters or from the rock platforms. Large blades and vibes or mid-sized plastic lures will also work a treat on the 96ML Seabass Rod.
Model 106M – Getting a little lengthier now. Casting distance is improved and ideal for both beach and rock fishing. Designed to cast a variety of lures including metals, vibes and hardbodies as well as larger plastics or general bait types if that’s what you’re into. Overall the Seabass 106M rod has enough tip for a fishing styles that are a little more finesse (targeting whiting and bream for example) but plenty of power in the mid to rear section is enough to help reel in the moderately larger class of fish in which you are likely to encounter when fishing from rock platforms or off the beach. Such species example as kingfish, salmon, bonito and snapper.
Model 110MH – Is the best seller in the range. At 11ft in length and rated 7-15kg the door is wide open as to the array of species you can capably target. Spin the river and lake entrances, surf or rocks. The 110MH is perfect for distance casting with metal spinning lures and general baits such as pilchard, squid or fish flesh strips. Perfectly suited to targeting Australian salmon, tailor, kingfish, snapper, small tuna and other mid-class pelagic species.
Model 110XH – If it’s heavy or nothing at all then the Seabass 110XH is the fishing rod for you. Throw bigger lures or baits for kingfish, mackerel, tuna and mulloway. Ideal for a wide range of medium-larger size pelagic fish species.
