This VSR allows charging of a 24 volt battery bank commonly used to power a larger electric trolling motor from an outboard engineäó»s 12 volt DC alternator output. When the main engine is running, the 24 volt battery bank is charging, thus extending fishing
time.
The system is fully automatic. When the main engine is first started the relay is open and remains open until the start battery has reached a preset 13.7 volt, at which point the TBVSR engages, charging trolling bank battery (A) for one minute, then trolling
bank battery (B) for one minute.
This continues as long as the engine is running and the starting battery voltage is over 12.8 volt DC. When the boat's engine is switched off, the starting battery voltage will drop below 12.8 volt DC, at which time the TBVSR disengages and stays disengaged separating the batteries. This eliminates the possibility of draining the start battery.
Surface mounted. Mount screws 5mm roundhead. The TBVSR should be mounted close to the starting battery. Ensure that the battery cables are correctly sized to avoid voltage drops.
