DESCRIPTION
Meet Emmy the Ears!
Emmy is a sweet girl, and I do love my people. She always looks at you adoringly and wants to come for cuddles.
Being here at is a second second chance for Emmy, and she is really looking forward to having a forever home of my own again.
The shelter is too noisy for Emmy to relax nicely. She needs a calm, quiet home with experienced dog people to really settle. No children please - when she is anxious or excited she can be quite full-on and may resort to jumping up or tugging on shorts or arms with a bit of force.
She is super smart (a Catahoula is a working dog breed!) and responds really well to being taught new things. An ongoing commitment to positive reinforcement training is a must for her new owners. Dog sports or agility would suit her. perfectly!
As with most smart dog breeds, Catahoula's need to have a fair amount of stimulation in order to stay energized and happy.
This dog breed is often encouraged in homes that have a fair amount of land for the dog to explore, and in smaller city or suburban blocks, they might get extra frustrated.
Spending a lot of time with Emmy is imperative for her health and happiness. She is a dog that craves interaction with others and wants to be a part of the family that it belongs to. If you do not have time to interact with this type of dog breed, it may not be a good fit for your home.
Emmy is quite dog social and is very open to meeting any existing dog you may have. She likes to play too, but sometimes forgets to bring the ball and toy back ;)
Please enquire about her soon (at ), and staff will organise for you to come and meet me.
My adoption fee ($200) includes me, my desexing, microchip and health check and makes sure I'm up to date with vaccinations, worming and flea treatments!
