Blue Planet pH Test Kit Powder pH test kit for freshwater aquariums, tests for and contains reagents to correct acidity and alkalinity in aquarium water. HOW TO USE: Clean test vial thoroughly. Fill vial half full with water to be tested. Add two drops of Bromothymol Blue to the vial. Gently tap vial with finger until colour is uniform throughout. DO NOT ALLOW FINGERS TO CONTACT SOLUTION when making the test or it will distort the results. Compare the colour in the test vial to the closest colour on the colour chart. This procedure should be repeated several times to achieve an accurate pH reading. When comparing colours, observe them against the white background between each colour panel. To correct acid water, use?pH UP (Sodium Bicarbonate). To correct alkaline water, use pH DOWN (Sodium Biphosphate). IMPORTANT: Avoid extreme acid or extreme alkaline aquarium water. All pH corrections should be made gradually (over several days) to allow fish and plantlife to adjust to change. We recommend regular?fortnightly water changes of approximately 25% of tank capacity to regulate pH and avoid accumulation of toxic waste by-products. Ensure new water is treated to remove chlorine before adding to aquarium.
