The American Eskimo Dog is known for its alertness and tendency to bark, which can be interpreted as being "yappy" in some situations. They make excellent watchdogs due to their vocal nature. In contrast, Canadian Eskimo Dogs are not typically known for excessive barking. However, individual temperament can vary, so early socialisation and training are still important to manage any unwanted behaviours, including barking, in both breeds.
